Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2016, the 27,914,064 population of Texas comprised of 10,892,261 people who identified as Hispanic (39.02%), and 17,021,803 people who identified as Non-Hispanic (60.98%).

Race: The White Alone population was the largest racial group in Texas, with a population of 22,138,569 (79.31%). Black or African American Alone population was the second largest racial group in Texas, with a population of 3,537,833 (12.67%). Asian Alone population was the third largest racial group in Texas, with a population of 1,379,243 (4.94%).

Ethnicity: The White Alone - Non Hispanic population was the largest ethnic group in Texas, with a population of 11,868,490 (42.52%).
