Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2023, among all US states and DC, Alaska had the highest percentage of its population who identified their race as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone (15.60%), followed by New Mexico (11.40%), and Oklahoma (9.54%).
On the other hand, West Virginia had the lowest percentage of its population who identified as American Indian and Alaska Native Alone (0.29%), followed by Ohio (0.32%), and New Hampshire (0.33%).
