Bernalillo County had the highest number of African Americans (24,012), and African Americans constituted 3.54% of the county's population. Other counties with high number of African Americans include: Doña Ana County (5,056) - 2.33% of the county's population, and Sandoval County (3,906) - 2.69% of the county's population.
