ENGINE:OTHER PARTS

IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE WALL THICKNESS OF THE ENGINE MOUNTING PAD IS OUTSIDE OF DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS. IF THIS CONDITION EXISTS, FAILURE OF THE MOUNTING PAD IN A BUS APPLICATION COULD CAUSE THE ENGINE TO FALL TO THE ROADWAY.

IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE FLYWHEELS IN SOME OF THE INVOLVED ENGINES HAVE CRACKS LOCATED WITHIN THE PILOT BORE AREA. THESE CRACKS MAY PROGRESS UNDER OPERATIONAL STRESSES AND LEAD TO FRAGMENTATION OF THE FLYWHEEL.
