EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION: MOTORCYCLE SHOCK ABSORBERS, PART NO. 2615-1019, SOLD EXCLUSIVELY FOR BMW MOTORCYCLE APPLICATIONS MANUFACTURED JUNE 1 THROUGH NOVEMBER 30, 1999. THE SHOCK ABSORBER PISTON ROD COULD BEND OR BREAK AT THE ADJUSTER THUMBWHEEL.

Consequence Summary:
IF THE PISTON ROD BREAKS, THE REAR SUSPENSION CAN LOSE FUNCTION AND ADVERSELY AFFECTING HANDLING AND POSSIBLY CAUSE THE DRIVER TO CRASH.
Corrective Action:
KONI WILL REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE SHOCK ABSORBERS FREE OF CHARGE.
