On July 19th, 2021 at approximately 0640 hours IPP observed a potential hazard inside the holding pen area, while performing a humane handling task. IPP identified a gate, located on the perimeter of the main holding pen, that has a broken piece of metal near the bottom. The broken piece is causing a potential risk to the animals within the pen. The broken piece of metal has created a gap big enough for an animal’s leg to get caught in. Also, the section of the gate that is broken has created a protruding, jagged edge on both sides of the fragmented area. The potential hazard caused by the broken gate is a violation of 9 CFR Regulation 313.1. IPP immediately notified the Establishment Owner, Michael Debach, of the non-compliance.
