Non-Compliance Description:

HHC VIII Stunning Effective On May 11, 2021, while conducting the Humane Handling task, I observed the following noncompliance. At approximately 0951, the first stun with a hand-held captive bolt did not render a bull, which was restrained in a head catch, unconscious and it remained standing. The stunner took immediate effective corrective action and effectively rendered the bull unconscious. I immediately notified establishment personnel of the noncompliance. On postmortem inspection of the head, two distinct points of entry into the skull were observed. This is a noncompliance of 9 CFR 313.15(a)(1), 313.15(a)(3) and 313.2(f).
