HATS Category III: Water and Feed Availability At approximately 1330 hours while performing the Livestock Humane Handling Verification Task in the holding pens at Foothills Country Meats (M21478) I, CSI REDACTED observed hogs in pen 2 and pen 3 without access to water. There were two hogs in pen 2 and an acceptable sized container, but this container was empty. There were eleven hogs in pen 3 and water was present in a trough. However, this trough is typically utilized for cows and was too tall for the animals (hogs) to be able to access the water. I notified establishment manager Mr. REDACTED of my observations and of the forthcoming documentation of the non-compliance with 9 CFR 313.2(e).
