Category III Water and Feed Availability On 9/14/22 at 0855 hours while performing the review and observation component of the Humane Handling task the following noncompliance was observed. Two sows were observed in pen 1 with an empty water container. A search of PHIS did not show any recent similar noncompliances. Mr. REDACTED was notified verbally. This is noncompliance with 9 CFR 313.2(e).

Category III Water and Feed Availability On 10/19/21 at 0815 hours while I was performing the review and observation component of the Humane Handling task the following noncompliance was observed. While I was making observations for category III Water and feed availability in the barn area, a sow was observed in pen number one that did not have access to water at the time. An empty container was observed in this pen. Mr. REDACTED was immediately notified verbally. This is noncompliance with 9 CFR 313.2e. A search in PHIS does not show a recent similar noncompliance.

Category IV Ante-mortem Inspection On 10/19/21 at 0815 hours while I was performing the review and observation component of the Humane Handling task the following noncompliances were observed. While I was making observations for category IV Handling during Ante-mortem in the barn area, it was observed that the metal along the wall in pen two had been bent up at the corner. This metal corner protruded into the pen area. One sow was present in this pen at the time and did not appear injured at this time. Mr. REDACTED was immediately notified verbally. This pen was rejected using US reject tag no. B-45023608. This is noncompliance with 9 CFR 313.1a. A search of PHIS showed one recent similar noncompliance SOJ0510095603N dated 9/3/21.
