At approximately 0815 on 10/05/21 while performing a routine Livestock Humane Handling Verification Task, I, CSI REDACTED observed the following noncompliance in the large pen next to the loading shoot. While assessing HATS Category III: Water and Feed Availability in the animal holding pens I found the back pen with eight hogs and no water available. There was an empty water bucket on the other end of the pen. I informed REDACTED of my findings and he had a worker go out and refill and place the bucket back in the pens. This would be noncompliance with 9 CFR 313.2(E) which is listed below. 313.2(e) Animals shall have access to water in all holding pens and, if held longer than 24 hours, access to feed. There shall be sufficient room in the holding pen for animals held overnight to lie down.
