HATS Category III: Water and Feed Availability On 1/4/23 at approximately 0710 hours, the following noncompliance was observed while performing antemortem inspection: There were four beef cattle being held in the US Suspect holding pen. These cattle did not have access to water, as there was not a container available to hold water. I verbally notified the pens supervisor and Plant Manager of the noncompliance. A regulatory control action was not taken, as the observed corrective action was to move the cattle to the next pen where they had access to water. The District Veterinary Medical Specialist was notified of through supervisory channels. There have been no noncompliance records issued for the same root cause in the past 90 days.
