Category III - Water and Feed Availability (9 CFR 313.2) On Monday March 27, 2023, approximately 0707, after the establishment’s pre-operational inspection and before the start of production I verified the pre-operational form, and I observed that the part in the pre-operational form of the water available to livestock was completed as verified. However, during the Ante-Mortem Inspection approximately 0714 of the Livestock Human Handling tasks, the following noncompliance’s was observed in the barn, eight hogs in pen #5, twenty-five piglets in pen #6 and twenty-four piglets in lower alley, were observed without any source of water. Pen #5 and pen #6 with bucket of water completely dry and lower alley without bucket of water. I informed a plant employee, that I would be documenting a non-compliance with 9 CFR 313.2(e)). No U.S Tag retain tags were applied to the pens due to the establishment taking immediate corrective action. Mr. REDACTED, Plant Manager was notified of this regulatory control action with this written NR’s.
