Non-Compliance Description:

HATS Category II: Truck Unloading; 9 CFR 313.1 (a) and 313.2 (a), On April 27, 2023, at approximately 0915 hours, while preforming antemortem inspection at Establishment # 34660, Tran Meat, I, REDACTED IPP, observed the following noncompliance. While an employee was transferring Feral Hogs from a transport trailer to the antemortem pen situated outside of the kill box, three small Feral Hogs while overly excited were able to squeeze through a gap between the trailer and pen. The Hogs proceeded to run from the employee and off the premises into the surrounding neighborhood. The employee stated that there was nothing else they can do and went back to work inside the establishment. I took regulatory action using U.S. Retained/ Rejected Tag No. B36347489 and tagged the entrance of the antemortem pen. I removed the tag after the trailer was resituated and the gab was closed.
