HATS Category III 313.2(e) Water and Feed availability On April 17, 2023 at approximately 0810 while performing the humane handling task the following noncompliance was observed. While observing two pigs in the bull pens for antemortem they were found without access to fresh water. The pens were completely dry, and no hog pans were placed in with the pigs. CSI REDACTED informed the Slaughter Supervisor REDACTED of the noncompliance and told him to give the pigs access to fresh water. Slaughter Supervisor REDACTED immediately gave the pigs fresh water. The pigs had arrived after hours. Wrights will place a sign with verbiage that states that water must be provided to animals dropped off after hours.
