Non-Compliance Description:

Category IV-Antemortem Inspection On October 25, 2023, at approximately 0845 hours, Insp. REDACTED and Insp. REDACTED were walking through the hide-on area and witnessed a steer that was running through the blood pit. They observed 2 establishment employees attempting to corral the animal to keep it from going further into the establishment. No injuries to the animal were noted. The establishment employees regained control of the animal and it was stunned appropriately. Establishment management was notified that a noncompliance record for 313.2(a) would be issued due to not handling the animal with a minimum of excitement.
