On March 27, 2024, at approximately 1000 hours the following noncompliance was observed. While Dr REDACTED and I were checking the Goat and Sheep holding barn we observed that the one pen of sheep had a water bucket that was frozen. These sheep are used for USDA inspection so must follow the regulation set for humane handling. We notified the employees about this and one of them went and fixed this situation. I also notified REDACTED the owner about this and my intent to issue this NR. This noncompliance will be linked to NR# ECK0811021428N

On February 28, 2024, at approximately 0745 hours the following noncompliance was observed. While performing a humane handling verification task I observed two cows in a holding pen with no food or water accessible for them. The water barrel was full but frozen solid. The temperature at the time of incident was 1-degree Fahrenheit. There were also two cows on a trailer with no food with a small bucket of frozen water. I showed the owner REDACTED this and verbally informed him of my intent to issue this NR.
