At approximately 0745 hours on 07/18/2024, CSI REDACTED and myself CSI REDACTED observed that there was no water in a holding area containing 3 market swine. Upon observation the swine appeared to be not stressed, well hydrated, and sleeping. The temperature also was around low 60 degrees F. The plant made immediate corrective actions and placed water into the serpentine / holding area. At approximately 0800 the Establishment owner REDACTED stated upon conversation, "A farmer delivered swine to the barn which was unscheduled and at a time that no employees were present". This is a humane handling noncompliance with 313.2 (e) due to inadequate holding procedures overnight.
