Non-Compliance Description:

At approximately 0905 hours, while performing a routine antemortem inspection, I, CSI REDACTED observed a humane handling noncompliance in pen #2. A white heifer slipped and fell due to excessive fecal material and water covering the pen floor. The animal fell onto its hindquarters but regained its footing. I applied a U.S Reject Tag #B-45040695 to pen #2 and notified the employee responsible for antemortem inspection. The employee cleaned the pen to remove the slip hazard. At approximately 0938 hours, after verifying the floor was safe for cattle. I removed the reject tag and allowed use of the pen. I notified establishment manger REDACTED of the noncompliance’s and that I would be issuing a noncompliance record (NR) for Title 9 CFR 313.1. No associated NR in the past 90 days has been documented for the same root cause.
