At approximately 11:21am, establishment management presented two beef and two lambs for antemortem inspection, IPP inquired with establishment management if all animals had water, establishment management replied yes, upon further examination during antemortem inspection in the holding pens, IPP observed a single beef steer in a holding pen with no water. This is a noncompliance with 9 CFR 313.2(e) which states. (e) Animals shall have access to water in all holding pens and, if held longer than 24 hours, access to feed. There shall be sufficient room in the holding pen for animals held overnight to lie down. IPP informed establishment management of the deficiency and that a noncompliance would be documented.
