During Ante-Mortem inspection there was no clean water available in the pens. 9 CFR 313.2(e). 9 CFR 313.2 After Ante-Morten inspection. While observing the driving of the steer establishment employee stood up on the rail and began kicking the cattle with his feet. One other employee had a yellow long pole look like a mop or broom hander sticking the steer in the rear. I immediately asked them to stop and state that an NR will be forthcoming. The employee acted as if they didn’t hear me. They stopped and the steer walked in the knock box with no sign of injury. I have discussed in MOI Meet with Establishment on the observing of the handling on the livestock. They were no member of management at the Establishment. I/CSI REDACTED emailed REDACTED HACCP and Quality Assurance Coordinator and REDACTED VP of Operation informing them that there’s a forthcoming of an NR.
