On February 28th at approximately 0830 hours, I, REDACTED, CSI, observed the following noncompliance. While conducting the Livestock Humane Handling Task, I saw there was about a 12-inch gap on the left side between the truck and the unloading area. While they were unloading the truck, about 12 small animals (lamb, goat, or sheep) fell between the 12-inch gap. However, all of the small animals appeared to recover and not to be severely harmed after slipping into the 12-inch gap. This is a violation of CFR 313.1(a). I informed REDACTED, owner of my findings.
