Non-Compliance Description:

HATS Category VIII: Stunning Effectiveness On March 26, 2024 at Est. #46240 Light Hill Meats, I, CSI REDACTED, observed the following. At approximately 9:00 A.M. I observed an establishment employee move a cow into the chute and then into the knock box. The establishment employee then restrained the animal with the head gate and with the secondary rope halter head holding device. The stun operator delivered the initial stun attempt via handheld captive bolt (HHCB) device, which was observed to contact the animal, but was ineffective, as the animal remained standing with tracking eye movements. The stun operator immediately retrieved the backup HHCB device and delivered an immediate and effective corrective action stun, rendering the animal insensible, and it remained so thereafter. Establishment owner Mr. REDACTED was notified of the observed non-compliance and the knock box was tagged with US B37373607.
