HATS Category III- Water and Feed Availability On 04/10/2025 at approximately 0800 hours, Dr. REDACTED (District Veterinary Medical Specialist) observed the following noncompliance during the humane handling verification visit. Market hogs in Pens 5 and 6 were overcrowded, standing shoulder to shoulder without space to move around in the pens or access the waterers. Dr. REDACTED notified Mr. REDACTED, Plant Manager, of the noncompliance. Mr. REDACTED moved a portion of animals from each pen into Pen 4 so that animals in all three pens had enough room to move around freely, lie down if desired, and access water. The establishment failed to comply with the regulatory requirements prescribed in 9 CFR 313.2(e).
