Non-Compliance Description:

On 07/09/2025, at approximately 7:30am, while conducting antemortem task HATS category 3, Dr. REDACTED noted that 4 suspect animals (M2705600, M2705401, M2705402, & M2705403) unloaded on 07/07/2025, slaughtered as Lot 15 at the end of the day on 07/08/2025; were not documented as receiving feed. Dr. REDACTED confirmed with Animal Handler REDACTED that the animals in question did not receive feed after 24-hours of holding before being slaughtered. This is noncompliant with 9CFR 313.2(e) as animal held over a 24-hour period need to have access to feed, team lead REDACTED was notified of the forth coming NR. REDACTED verbally relayed corrective actions that the SOP would be amended to include directions stipulating: once a load is going to be designated as “held over for vesicle testing”, the animal handlers will feed the designated lot.
