On March 3, 2025, at 0555 hours the following non-compliance was observed when entering the barn to complete slaughter antemortem inspection. Within one pen, normally called the suspect pen, there was observed to be one lamb within the pen. There were not any containers within the pen for access to water. When reviewing animal receiving records there was not any records for a lamb delivery on the record to know how long the animal had been in the pen. Plant employee, REDACTED, was notified of the observation. This is non-compliant with 9 CFR 313.2 (e) stating “Animals shall have access to water in all holding pens and, if held longer than 24 hours, access to feed. There shall be sufficient room in the holding pen for animals held overnight to lie down”
