313.16(a)(1)
On this day 2-14-2025 @ approximately 2:15 pm while observing the stunning of a sow the following issue was observed Sow was moved calmly into knock box kill operator administered a single shot to the sow the animal was not rendered unconscious & was still standing, the animal did not vocalize or become agitated, the operator immediately took corrective action by placing another bullet in the rifle and firing a 2nd shot, this shot rendered the animal completely unconscious. Inspector informed operator to not kill any more animals until approved. Upon inspection of the head of animal 2 bullet holes were verified. The failure to comply with regulation: 313.16(a)(1), results in this non-compliance.
