On July 13, 2025 at 12:15pm while performing an odd hour inspection, the following non-compliance was found. When verifying HATS task III (water and feed availability), 3 groups of cows (pen 1-2, pen 8, pen 9) had no hay present. 6 groups of cows (pen 5-6, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18) had minimal hay present. 2 groups (pen 14-15 and pen 7) had plenty of hay available. When observing the feeding log, the last date of feeding marked down was 7-11-25. Observed Monday morning, July 14, 2025, at 9:30am the pens noted above with no hay, had no hay present. Pens with minimal hay on Sunday, had minimal to no hay Monday morning. Pens 14-15 and pen 7 still had plenty of hay available. The feeding log was looked at again with the last feeding date marked as 7-11-25. This is a non-compliance of 9 CFR 313.2 Handling of Livestock “Animals held over 24 hours shall have access to feed.” REDACTED (barn manager), REDACTED (plant manager) and REDACTED (owner) were informed of the forthcoming non-compliance.
