Non-Compliance Description:

HATS Category IV – Antemortem (Facilities) On 18 April 2025, at approximately 13:32, the IIC and SPHV were performing antemortem livestock inspection at M46498 (Westminster Meat Packing) and the following noncompliance was observed. The fencing of the outermost roofless holding pen behind the barn had multiple wires protruding into the pen area that could injure animals as well as many unnecessary openings that could entrap animals. At the time there were around 20 animals present in this pen. The establishment's immediate corrective action was to relocate the animals from the pen to a different pen. The plant co-owner was notified of the noncompliance and the establishment’s failure to adhere to the regulatory requirements of 9 CFR 313.1(a). This document serves as written notification that your failure to comply with regulatory requirement(s) could result in additional regulatory or administrative action.
