In 2022, South Africa had the highest unemployment rate (29.81%), followed by Djibouti (27.93%), and then Eswatini (24.39%). Niger had the lowest unemployment rate (0.53%) in Africa in 2022.

The World Bank defines unemployment rate as "the share of the labor force that is without work but available for and seeking employment".
