In 2021, South Africa had the highest unemployment rate (28.77%), followed by Djibouti (27.95%), and then Eswatini (24.56%). Niger had the lowest unemployment rate (0.67%) in Africa in 2021.
The World Bank defines unemployment rate as "the share of the labor force that is without work but available for and seeking employment".
