In 2018, South Africa had the highest unemployment rate (26.91%), followed by Lesotho (23.98%), and then Eswatini (22.37%). Niger had the lowest unemployment rate (0.47%) in Africa in 2018.
The World Bank defines unemployment rate as "the share of the labor force that is without work but available for and seeking employment".
