In 1992, Lesotho had the highest unemployment rate (37.61%), followed by South Africa (29.58%), and then Algeria (24.38%). Rwanda had the lowest unemployment rate (0.35%) in Africa in 1992.
The World Bank defines unemployment rate as "the share of the labor force that is without work but available for and seeking employment".
