In 2014, South Africa had the highest unemployment rate (24.89%), followed by Lesotho (24.47%), and then Eswatini (24.14%). Niger had the lowest unemployment rate (0.52%) in Africa in 2014.
The World Bank defines unemployment rate as "the share of the labor force that is without work but available for and seeking employment".
