Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the Poverty Rate for the White Alone racial group in West Virginia was 16.19%. Among all West Virginia counties, the White Alone racial group had the highest poverty rate in Mingo County (28.4%), followed by McDowell County (28.25%), and Calhoun County (27.88%). On the other hand, the White Alone racial group had the lowest poverty rate in the following 3 counties: Pleasants County (7.27%), Gilmer County (8.36%), and Morgan County (8.37%).
