According to recent data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in December, 2020, Illinois added the highest number of jobs to the local government public administration industry (789), followed by South Dakota (519), and Minnesota (442).

On the other hand, New York added the least number of jobs (-6,953), followed by Michigan (-6,918), and California (-5,763).
