According to recent data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, in January, 2023, Mississippi added the highest number of jobs to the private nonmetallic mineral product manufacturing industry (598), followed by North Carolina (182), and New Mexico (121).

On the other hand, Illinois added the least number of jobs (-719), followed by Michigan (-491), and Florida (-455).
