According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of California was 6.8% (sa) in November, 2002. Among all California counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Colusa (17.9%), Imperial (16.3%), and Fresno (12.5%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): San Luis Obispo (4.9%), Marin (4.9%), and Placer (5%).
