According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of California was 11.8% (sa) in July, 2009. Among all California counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Imperial (31.3%), Yuba (17.6%), and Alpine (17%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Marin (8.4%), Santa Barbara (8.6%), and Napa (8.6%).
