According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of California was 12.3% (sa) in January, 2011. Among all California counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Colusa (30.7%), Imperial (27.9%), and Plumas (22.9%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Marin (8%), San Mateo (8.2%), and Mono (8.5%).
