According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Indiana was 8.3% (sa) in December, 2008. Among all Indiana counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Elkhart (16.2%), LaGrange (15.9%), and Noble (14%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Dubois (4.7%), Daviess (4.7%), and Hamilton (4.9%).
