According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of Michigan was 7.2% (sa) in April, 2003. Among all Michigan counties, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates (nsa): Mackinac (16.9%), Cheboygan (15.5%), and Montmorency (13.8%).

On the hand, the following three counties were among those with low unemployment rates (nsa): Washtenaw (3.7%), Clinton (4.2%), and Eaton (4.4%).
