According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of the US was 5.4% (sa) in May, 2008. Among all US states and DC, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates: Michigan (7.6%), Rhode Island (7%), and California (6.7%).
On the hand, the following three states were among those with low unemployment rates: Wyoming (2.7%), South Dakota (2.8%), and North Dakota (3%).
