According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of the US was 4.7% (sa) in December, 2016. Among all US states and DC, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates: New Mexico (6.8%), Alaska (6.7%), and District of Columbia (6.3%).

On the hand, the following three states were among those with low unemployment rates: Hawaii (2.7%), Colorado (2.7%), and North Dakota (2.9%).
