According to the FBI UCR data, in 2022, there were 8,937 adult arrests made in the US for murder and nonnegligent manslaughter offenses.

By Race: The highest number of those arrested were identified as Black or African American (4.97K), followed by White (3.70K), and American Indian or Alaska Native (123).

By Ethnicity: Ethnicity information was reported for 7,561 (85%) of those arrested. Among those for whom ethnicity was reported, the highest number were identified as Not Hispanic or Latino (5.99K), followed by Hispanic or Latino (1.57K).
