US Number of Total Arrests By Population Group for Driving Under The Influence Offenses in 2020

According to the FBI UCR data, in 2020, there were 531,846 total arrests made in the US for driving under the influence offenses. There were 311,168 total arrests made in All Cities; 140,244 total arrests made in Metropolitan Counties; 80,434 total arrests made in Nonmetropolitan Counties; and 235,930 total arrests made in Suburban Areas.

In terms of rate of arrests per 100K inhabitants, Nonmetropolitan Counties had the highest (424.5), followed by Group VI - Cities (338.3), and Metropolitan Counties (280).

  5. Group V - Cities: Cities with a population of 10,000 to 24,999.
  6. Group VI - Cities: Cities with a population under 10,000.
