US Number of Total Arrests By Population Group for Drunkenness Offenses in 2020

According to the FBI UCR data, in 2020, there were 135,744 total arrests made in the US for drunkenness offenses. There were 115,065 total arrests made in All Cities; 14,141 total arrests made in Metropolitan Counties; 6,538 total arrests made in Nonmetropolitan Counties; and 39,762 total arrests made in Suburban Areas.
In terms of rate of arrests per 100K inhabitants, Group VI - Cities had the highest (155.7), followed by Group II - Cities (86.1), and Group V - Cities (74.5).

- Group I - Cities: Cities with a population of 250,000 and over.
- Group II - Cities: Cities with a population of 100,000 to 249,999.
- Group III - Cities: Cities with a population of 50,000 to 99,999.

- Group V - Cities: Cities with a population of 10,000 to 24,999.
- Group VI - Cities: Cities with a population under 10,000.
