US Number of Total Arrests By Population Group for Drunkenness Offenses in 2023

According to the FBI UCR data, in 2023, there were 9,517 total arrests made in the US for drunkenness offenses. There were 8,032 total arrests made in All Cities; 1,375 total arrests made in Metropolitan Counties; 110 total arrests made in Nonmetropolitan Counties; and 4,302 total arrests made in Suburban Areas.

In terms of rate of arrests per 100K inhabitants, Group II - Cities had the highest (7.5), followed by Group IV - Cities (5.8), and Group V - Cities (5.3).

  5. Group V - Cities: Cities with a population of 10,000 to 24,999.
