According to the FBI UCR data, in 2020, there were 5,934 adult arrests made in US cities for murder and nonnegligent manslaughter offenses.
By Race: The highest number of those arrested were identified as Black or African American (3.29K), followed by White (2.48K), and Asian (79).
By Ethnicity: Ethnicity information was reported for 5,003 (84%) of those arrested. Among those for whom ethnicity was reported, the highest number were identified as Not Hispanic or Latino (3.85K), followed by Hispanic or Latino (1.15K).
