According to the FBI UCR data, in 2020, there were 53,335 total arrests made in US metropolitan counties for larceny theft offenses.

By Race: The highest number of those arrested were identified as White (35.38K), followed by Black or African American (16.97K), and Asian (616).

By Ethnicity: Ethnicity information was reported for 46,424 (87%) of those arrested. Among those for whom ethnicity was reported, the highest number were identified as Not Hispanic or Latino (40.78K), followed by Hispanic or Latino (5.65K).
