US Number of Total Arrests By Population Group for Property Crime Offenses in 2023

According to the FBI UCR data, in 2023, there were 772,801 total arrests made in the US for property crime offenses. There were 638,562 total arrests made in All Cities; 108,759 total arrests made in Metropolitan Counties; 25,480 total arrests made in Nonmetropolitan Counties; and 282,097 total arrests made in Suburban Areas.

In terms of rate of arrests per 100K inhabitants, Group VI - Cities had the highest (380.5), followed by Group V - Cities (364.3), and Group IV - Cities (351.4).

  5. Group V - Cities: Cities with a population of 10,000 to 24,999.
  6. Group VI - Cities: Cities with a population under 10,000.
